Incredible CCTV footage shows the moment a pick-up truck smashed through the wall of an airport in Florida.
It shows calm scenes at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport yesterday as two women working behind the car rental desks chat and sip on drinks.
They can then be seen frantically ducking for cover as a 2015 GMC Sierra truck speeds through the baggage carousel area towards their desk.
Debris flies everywhere as the truck hits the desk.
Other cameras around the airport show the truck smashing through a wall into the arrivals section of the main terminal building.
Police say the driver was a 40-year-old man Juan Monsivis, who sustained serious injuries in the crash and is being treated at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
Local police said the two women behind the car rental desk were not injured.
Fortunately, the airport’s final flight of the night had landed about 20 minutes earlier, so the terminal was mostly cleared out.
Police told reporters the truck was spotted travelling in a “reckless manner” and officers had tried to stop it.
The airport’s CEO Rick Piccolo told the Tampa Bay Times the truck caused more than $250,000 damage.
