Too hot to sleep? 7You reviews Oodie’s bestselling ‘cooling pyjamas’ – which are perfect for the hot summer months

With the temperatures across Australia hotting up, it’s a sign of what’s to come in the summer months for 2026 and early 2027.

But you needn’t wake up in a puddle of sweat, thanks to Oodie’s cooling range of pyjamas, which are made with ultra-breathable, moisture-wicking fibres that feel cool against the skin.

While many people think of Oodie as a cold-weather brand, in fact the Aussie staple has a whole pile of cooling clothes, blankets and pyjamas — which are perfect for helping to regulate your body temperature when the mercury soars.

And they’re popular too, with an average of 4.5 stars on the Oodie website.

Below, the 7You team review the brand’s Cooling Pyjama range.

Here are our honest thoughts.

As someone who runs cold throughout most days and hot as soon as I get into bed (confusing, right?), I thought these pyjamas could be just what I needed this summer.

And I was not wrong: they actually work.

Be the first to know:

After selecting the Love Candy T-Shirt and Shorts ($39 each), I was impressed at how quickly my PJs arrived and keen to get testing them.

Their first trial? A Saturday night when temperatures had hit 32 degrees Celsius that day.

I was impressed with these PJs and definitely found they had a cooling element when you put them on.

I think because they have an oversized fit, the pyjamas feel especially breathable.

This is intensified by the material choice — a modal and elastane blend that Oodie say is “21 per cent more breathable than regular jersey cotton”.

The fabric is soft, buttery soft even, and the great news is that even after they’ve been in the washing machine, the clever blend of fabrics retains its softness — meaning every night is velvety smooth.

I definitely think these pyjamas are worth the money.

With countless fun prints to choose from, I’ve actually gone back to the website to order some for my daughter this summer, I like them that much.

Verdict: 8/10

Hold your horses… why is this print SO cute?! Pink cowboy hats, cowboy boots and cacti? It’s giving Kacey Musgraves having a sleepover and I’m obsessed.

I’m one of those weirdos who wears PJ pants year-round, regardless of whether it’s freezing or the surface of the sun. But with Sydney already hitting 30°C plus, cooling PJs are officially a summer survival essential.

This buttery-soft, ultra-breathable dream set feels ridiculously comfy, has plenty of stretch, and keeps things cool when the weather is doing the absolute most.

I tested the shorts this time around, and they passed the ultimate test: Sunday-night movie marathons without wanting to peel my clothes off. A win!

They’re also perfect for a slumber party. And yes, I still have those as an adult. Growing up is optional; cute pyjamas are not.

They’re ridiculously comfy, criminally cute and blessedly cooling, thank goodness.

All in all, these PJs are comfy enough to lounge in all day, cute enough to make your wardrobe say yeehaw, and cooling enough to keep those sweaty summer nights at bay. Saddle up, sleepyheads.

Verdict: 7/10

As someone who loves a good pyjama set, I’m being serious when I say you couldn’t stuff another pair in my drawer if you tried.

I had very high expectations when these came across my feed because on initial glance it seemed like the answer to my overheating nightly prayers.

And almost immediately, I felt the difference.

Not just because of how soft the material was, but after the whiplash weather Sydney has been having, I didn’t wake up to turn the fan on once.

Made from a naturally cooling and breathable cotton, this PJ set has quickly become my go-to style.

Opting for the short option of the cloud set, it almost feels like I’m not wearing anything to begin with, which I can truly appreciate as we head into the warmer months.

Available in a range of sizes, I sized up because I prefer an oversized fit when sleeping, but with the elastic waistband I still feel secure with the snug fit.

And if you are someone who is the opposite of me and gets overly chilly at nighttime, why not reach for the ‘warming’ option?

Verdict: 9/10
